Sanna McKim brought the first Shetland sheep into Maine in the late 80’s and has been playing with wool and fiber ever since.
Now an Icelandic sheep farmer, she continues to dabble in fiber arts, spinning, weaving, felting and knitting drawing inspiration from wild landscapes and the everyday beauty around her. She is also currently engaged in pottery, glassblowing and paper arts. This is her first year experimenting with a small flax-to-linen project on her Maine farm and is excited to be part of the Northern New England Fibershed. Her flax artwork features the eye of one of her Haflinger draft ponies, “Nervin.”
